And the challenge was set to take place the next day at noon. That condition was that the winner is not determined by who reaches a specific point the fastest, but by who would fly the highest by the day. Hermes accepts but only at one condition. Icarus would go to mount Olympus and Challenge Hermes once again. Icarus Kept doing this until there were only two individuals left in Greece with, him and Hermes. And Icarus would go on doing this all over Greece, forcing those with wings to race him, and they all faced defeat at black wings of Icarus. But they would lose to Icarus, and after each Victory Icarus would cut the wings of the loser. At first most of them accept, thinking they would never lose to a chicken (the name Icarus was called after losing to Hermes). Then Icarus would go on and hunt everyone with wings in Greece, and he would challenge them to a race, but that race had a single condition the loser must cut his wings. Icarus would go on and fix his wings and would only Crow’s feathers in them, to make his wings colored black and distinguished from the other wings. By proving to the entirety of Greece that these are not only Feathers and wax strapped to his back, but that these are real wings and they are better than any other wings including Hermes’s wings. And he became a broken shell of the man who he used to be.Īfter that day Icarus had only one goal in mind, and that is to regain the respect he lost after Hermes humiliated him. And from that moment Icarus the man who loved flying more than anything, hated it the most. Afterwards Hermes came to Icarus to humiliate him and said to him “You can wear those pathetic feathers of yours all you want, but they will never be wings and you will never be able to truly fly”. Meanwhile Hermes overtook him and won the race. But Icarus didn’t taste that victory, as suddenly water thrown by the other winged individuals overwhelmed him, the water damaged Icarus’s wings, making him fall to the ground and getting injured. And the race kept on going until the finish was in Icarus’s sight and he could taste the victory over a God. But to Icarus this was no surprise as flying was the only thing he devoted his life for. This made Hermes in great shock, as how he a God could Lose to a man with wings made of wax. The race started and Icarus took the lead from the beginning, and throughout the race Icarus kept the lead. It was a race from one side of the city to the other, Icarus and Hermes took their place at one side of the city while the other winged individuals waited for them at the other. One of them accepted but this wasn’t any normal individual, it was the God Hermes who accepted Icarus’s challenge. ![]() This infuriated Icarus and he challenged one of them for a race. ![]() As those individuals mocked Icarus for how his wings looked. But greeting’s wasn’t waiting for Icarus. For Icarus flying was his life, as he enjoyed it the most and he got better and better at it.ĭays would go by, and one day while flying Icarus would find a group of winded individuals, who he decided to greet them. Icarus decided to not only use his wings to his own joy and pleasure but also to use them to help the people in his city. “Don’t fly too high or the sun will melt your wings and don’t fly too low or the water will dampen the feathers” Daedalus.Īnd from that day Icarus became the happiest man alive and nothing could dull his spark. Upon giving his son the wings, Daedalus warned his son of two things. ![]() The wings Daedalus crafted were made of wax and feathers. So, as a gift of becoming of age Daedalus gifted his son with that he desired the most, Wings. Days kept going and young Icarus grew to become a young man. From a young age Icarus had only one dream and that is to fly, and everyday Icarus would pray to Zeus to gift him with the gift of wings.
